Janot Interiors is a custom woodworking and cabinet making company based in Calgary. We provide Calgary and the surrounding areas of Cochrane, High River, Strathmore, Canmore, Okotoks, Airdrie, Chestermere, and Bragg Creek with the most exquisite custom cabinets created by highly skilled craftsmen.
Janot Interiors custom made cabinetry is the finest in the Calgary area, because owner/operator Jean-Gabriel (“Janot”) Voyer was born into woodworking. Woodworking has been in Jean’s blood his entire life – his father owned his own woodworking company and first introduced Jean to the custom woodworking, windows and doors business when he was only 4 years old. Over the years, the company grew to include custom furniture and custom cabinets.
After working with his father through his teens, Jean eventually went to college to get a teaching degree, but after one year of teaching, he realized that woodworking was more than just his calling – wood would actually listen to him.
He returned to woodworking with his father. However, after his father’s passing, he moved to Quebec City and worked in a cabinet making shop as a craftsman and salesman for many years. Jean even became a local celebrity with a successful half-hour handyman television show. In 1981, Jean decided to leave the Quebec City and move to Calgary where he worked for three different cabinet making companies.
Jean eventually started his own custom cabinet shop and the business flourished. After 7 successful years, he sold everything and then went to work for a cabinet refacing company. After working there for a few more years, Jean left for other life pursuits. He tried many different things, but woodworking is in his blood and it kept calling him back.
Jean finally decided to start Janot Interiors, makers of high-end quality custom cabinetry. His finely crafted custom cabinets have been making him and his customers happy ever since.
